I’ve worked with the Pollies since the band formed, both as designer and bass player. This is the first album that I worked on that I didn’t also contribute to musically. This is also my favorite album cover of theirs that I’ve made. Jay and I have always collaborated on the conceptualization of the artwork, and previous covers were more directly related to the album concept. On this one, we decided to take a more abstract approach, and utilize collages to create the imagery. Previously, we had relied primarily on photography elements to create the artwork, but we knew we wanted to do something different on this one. I made several variations of this, but I’m happy with the one we settled on.
